This document is a Department of Defense (DOD) Memo discussing the death of Muhammed Hamza Al-Zubaydi, a 67-year-old Iraqi. Mr. Al-Zubaydi was the former President and Director of the President's Office & Deputy Prime under the regime of Saddam Hussain. Mr. Al-Zubaydi was captured and became a detainee of the collation forces on April 22, 2003, and was held at Camp Cropper during his detention. Mr. Al-Zubaydi became ill on November 19, 2005. He was transferred to the hospital "suffering from respiratory distress and complaining of chest pain." Mr. Al-Zubaydi had a previous medical history of high blood pressure, diabetes, peripheral arterial disease, and coronary artery disease.
