Sworn statements of three (3) detainees at Abu Ghraib. FIRST STATEMENT: Detainee states that he "was never hit in Abu Ghraib," but was mistreated between his capture and his arrival at Abu Ghraib. Describes being interrogated and hit "by an American and an Iraqi." States that, at Abu Ghraib, he was "made to walk over rocks without shoes" with hands tied behind him. Also describes being hit on the head and having his head hit against a wall, causing dizziness and hallucinations for 3 days. States that this type of treatment lasted for his first 15 days at Abu Ghraib. SECOND STATEMENT: Detainee states that he was kept in isolation for 55 days after arriving at Abu Ghraib. Alleges that he was "not allowed to sleep" for four days and was "forced to kneel on gravel" with a bag over his heads before coming to Abu Ghraib. THIRD STATEMENT: States that "US forces...placed a hood over our heads and made us lie on the ground. They stepped on our backs." Detainee describes being forced to kneel on gravel and being prevented from sleeping for four days, along with various male family members. Statement contains names of facilities, but they have been redacted.

States that upon capture he was "interrogated by an American and an Iraqi.... The American hit me but the Iraqi hit me more." Describes having his head hit "three times" against a wall, and states that he was hit on the head while someone held his hands; suffered dizziness and hallucinations for three days as a result of the head injuries. Describes being "made to take a cold shower" with a suit and while his hands were tied behind his back, and being "tied to a window." States that the first 15 days after his arrival at Abu Ghraib were "very difficult," and that he was "punched and hit," but that "the American" treated him "very well."

States that "US forces" came into his house, placed hoods on his and his family's heads, and forced them to lie on the ground. States that they were "not allowed to sleep" and were handcuffed and made to kneel on gravel "for four days." Describes being kicked. States that his father, who was "diabetic with high blood pressure" and who had "had a heart attack," was "without medication for two days." Detainee was accompanied by his three brothers, his father, three uncles, and his son.

The "bad treatment" occurred prior to his arrival at Abu Ghraib; detainee states that after his capture, he was mistreated for four days. Describes not being allowed to sleep and being "forced to kneel down on gravel" with a bag over his head, along with his brothers and father, who had a heart condition.
